Our story

How Criollacakes Was Born

Criollacakes started in my home kitchen, during maternity leave, with a baby on my hip and flour in my hair. Baking quickly became more than just a hobby—it was my creative outlet, my therapy, and eventually… my business!

With no fancy training, just a deep love for cakes and a ton of late-night baking sessions, I taught myself everything from scratch. The name Criollacakes comes from “criolla,” a word that reflects my mixed cultural roots and love for bold, beautiful flavours.

What began with a few cupcakes for family and friends turned into a growing business making custom cakes and treats that are full of flavour, low on sugar, and always made with top-quality ingredients (and love, of course).

Now, I get to help people celebrate their biggest moments—with cakes that taste as good as they look!

Our history

Our History

Criollacakes began in 2020, just before the world changed. What started as a personal passion during maternity leave quickly turned into a business built on love, resilience, and a whole lot of buttercream. With no professional training—just a whisk, a dream, and a deep love for baking—I started creating cakes from my kitchen, one order at a time.

The name Criollacakes was inspired by the word “criolla,” a nod to my roots and cultural mix. It represents flavour, heritage, and creativity—a perfect match for the cakes and treats I love to make. From early days baking for friends and family, the business grew through word of mouth, repeat customers, and a whole community that believed in my work.

Over the years, Criollacakes has become known for bespoke cakes and handmade treats that combine stunning design with the finest ingredients. We specialise in reduced sugar options that never compromise on taste, and every creation is made fresh to order, with care and attention to detail.

Today, Criollacakes is more than just cake—it’s a story of growth, gratitude, and sweet celebrations. And we’re just getting started.
